| The Science Park (SP) Video Cast Service (VCS) is a fully managed service offering providing storage and delivery of multimedia content to users over the SP Campus Network. The VCS supports most popular Microsoft Windows Media and Real video streaming formats and it uses streaming approach to deliver the multimedia contents to the user's PC instantly as the event is taking place. Registered users electronically transfer their encoded video files to the streaming server which is then made available for streaming automatically. In addition, SP maintains Digital Video Camera and encoding station (RealProducer) for use by registered users. This recording and encoding equipment can be used for both record-for-later playback and simultaneous live streaming and recording of video content. VCS can provide a wide range of streaming server capabilities to businesses, including streaming live video and streaming audio for training instruction. Enterprise businesses all benefit from using VCS to stream on demand and live audio and video to geographically dispersed customers, employees and partners worldwide. Any administration in an organization, including marketing, sales, management, human resources and customer service can use VCS to cost-effectively deliver their media online. SP VCS provides the following services: Live Streaming Events that are held in the Science Park Convention halls or other designated locations with campus network access can be broadcasted to users' PCs via the Science Park campus network. Authorized users can click on the live events via the VCS interface to view event instantly and simultaneously. The live streaming can deliver seminars / lectures hosted at Science Park to those audiences within Science Park and Internet. The live streaming events can be archived for further media production process such as creating DVD/VCD and mounting the captured video for Video On-demand (VOD) service. On-Demand Streaming The Video On-demand (VOD) service enables authorized users to select and playback video clip in the video menu. Apart from the Science Park's event on-demand video delivery service, the VOD service allows users to broadcast their multimedia content over the SP campus network and Internet. |
